Pastor FRANK J. KNOLTON, SR.

This Man of GOD

The Reverend Frank Jerai Knolton, Sr. was born on February 1, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up as the 6th of 7 siblings in the home of Herman and Carolyn Jacobs. At the age of 13, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized, becoming a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where Reverend Jackson Lee, Sr. was the pastor.

Rev. Knolton is married to Ladawn Knolton and they have seven children: Gwendolyn, Arielle, Dennis, Dominic, Frank Jr., Naomi, and Keovon. For more than 20 years, Rev. Knolton has been dedicated to his career as a Community Vocational Liaison at The Therapeutic Rehabilitation Center. His role involves providing support services in various therapeutic disciplines to both children and adults, helping them obtain vocational opportunities and achieve stability in their daily lives.

In 1996, Rev. Knolton became a member of First Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he served diligently as a member of the Board of Deacons and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He also had a strong passion for working with children and served as a mentor and leader in the Youth Department and the community. Rev. Knolton organized and managed a community gospel choir, which brought young people from across the city and various denominations together to sing praises to God. It became evident that Rev. Knolton's ministry was centered on demonstrating God's love through his actions and service to others.

However, despite his involvement in music and community work, Rev. Frank J. Knolton, Sr. felt a deeper calling in his heart. In February 2003, he humbly accepted his call to the ministry and continued to serve God's people at First Union Missionary Baptist Church. He joined Leland Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a minister under the leadership of Rev. Cecil A. Poe, Ph.D.

In March 2006, Rev. Frank J. Knolton, Sr. became the pastor of First Union Missionary Baptist Church. As a dedicated and committed man of God, he utilized his gifts to grow the church membership and empower and engage the congregation in community outreach. Pastor Knolton is known for his preaching, teaching, and leading by example. He is also an accomplished drummer and a passionate Psalmist, showcasing his love for music.

On May 21, 2017, Reverend Frank Jerai Knolton, Sr. was called as the 6th Pastor of Leland Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. He continues to seek God's direction and wisdom while remaining humble, stating that his duty as a servant is to preach salvation through Jesus Christ to all of God's people.
